Doing Money Differently: New Factsheets

RADAR's Doing Money Differently, part of the Doing Life Differently Series, is about thinking of new ways of making, saving and looking after your money.  We have produced a set of new factsheets that are free and will help you manage your money better.

1. Opening a bank or building society account  2. Getting a mortgage  3. Taking out insurance  4. Tax Credits

Disability Benefits Consortium Survey

We are doing a survey to find out more about your experiences of the benefits system. We are going to use the information we get from the survey to help the Government better understand the impact changes to benefits like Incapacity Benefit, Disability Living Allowance and Local Housing Allowance will have on disabled people. We will also use the information to make people more aware of how important benefits are.

You can take the survey here.

The survey is open to all disabled people. You can either fill it in yourself or ask someone else to fill it in for you. The survey will run until 20th October 2010. However, the sooner you reply the better. If we get a lot of responses very quickly we can pass some of this early information onto Government as we try and safeguard key disability benefits.

London Leadership Event

Equipping and Inspiring Leaders from the BAME community

This free leadership event is open to anyone experiencing ill health, injury or disability that has aspirations to lead and positively influence the world they are living and working in.  We are particularly keen to attract young people aged 18 to 25 and people from black or minority ethnic backgrounds as these groups are under-represented in leadership and influential positions.

There will be inspirational speakers, professional coaches, diversity employment consultants and plenty of tips and advice from other disabled people who have experience in leadership and influential positions.  The aim is to help you create your own self-sustaining networks and plans, so that you can start to achieve your leadership aspirations.

If you like to apply for a place at this event, please fill in the application form or get in touch with Carina Schmoldt via email carina.schmoldt@radar.org.uk or call 0207 566 0114
