Independent Living

Independent living means personalised services, with individuals gaining the support they need to live the lives they choose

Radar works with support providers to achieve transformation of services. Radar Consulting can support organisations to become ‘user-led’ or work with user-led organisations, to deliver independent living services, to balance independence and safety.

We offer many guides and products targeting individuals living with disability or health conditions. We offer opportunities to reach this audience through sponsorship or advertising.

Our People of the Year awards offer organisations the opportunity to sponsor independent living awards, click here to see our 2010 sponsors. In 2010 the Radar Intercontinental Hotels Person of the Year award was won by Wycliffe Noble, for pioneering work to improve accessibility in Britain over many years. The technology award, sponsored by the One Coalition for Accessible IT, was won by Nuance for Dragon software that enables millions to communicate quickly and easily on mobile devices, simply by speaking. The Radar Shaw Trust accessibility award was won by Arsenal Football Club for enabling full participation of disabled people. And the Care and Support award was won by Ealing Centre for Independent Living for their pioneering outreach work, reaching all communities, bringing together disabled people and carers – and enabling disabled people to access almost half a million pounds in support

Radar works closely with Ministers, officials and parliamentarians. We hold parliamentary receptions, sometimes in partnership with organisations with similar aims
