The UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities sets out clearly what full enjoyment of human rights for disabled people means in practice. It provides detailed duties as well as obligations in the Convention to involve disabled people in its implementation and monitoring.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission published a guide that explains what the Convention means for disabled people. It was written by Radar: http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/human-rights/a-guide-to-the-un-disability-convention/.
The Department of Health commissioned Radar to organise a series of involvement events for disabled stakeholders that will enable the Department to better understand its obligations under the Convention.
