The Awards Ceremony

Map and Directions

Battersea Evolution will once again play host to RADAR's People of the Year Awards. This stunning venue set in the heart of Battersea Park, surrounded by two hundred acres of beautiful woodland, lakes and bridges, is the perfect backdrop for this prestigious event.

The Evolution has played host to some of the finest high profile events in the UK and continues to draw artists and clients from all over the world. Recent events have included, London Fashion Week, The British Video Awards, The Conservatives Black and White Ball, to name but a few. Entertainment has seen the likes of Elton John, The Sugar Babes, Lionel Richie, and Mariah Carey all walk through its famous doors.

Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of the cold winter city, you will soon shift gear and forget the stresses and strains of your busy day. Nestled in amongst the moonlit woodland you will come across the Evolution shinning into the night sky like a secret wonderland. From here on in all you need to do is leave your coat at the door and everything else up to us.

This year we have taken a step back from the opulence and extravagance of 2008 and have taken inspiration from one of the worlds most famous nightspots, Studio 54. Studio 54 dominated the New York club scene throughout most of the 70's and 80's and was the place to see and be seen. It was renowned as the coolest place on the planet, we are thrilled to be bringing a slice of it to you and your guests for this years celebrations.

So once through the velvet rope and up the pink carpet, enjoy a delicious glass or two of champagne while you mingle with your colleagues and peers at our gorgeous cocktail reception. We will then lead you through to the main arena for a sublime three course dinner exclusively designed by one of London's leading award winning caterers. You will dine under a canopy of a million stars and if you're lucky you may even rub shoulders with one or two of them. As the wine begins to flow all you need to do is just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

This will then take us straight into the awards ceremony hosted by the inspirational Frank Gardner who will introduce you to a spectacular line up of presenters. There are a total of ten awards this year with some truly extraordinary winners. You will meet those winners, hear their stories, and see just how these incredible individuals and businesses are truly changing the way people think about disability and human rights, not only in the UK but around the world today.

With the awards over you can get down to some serious partying. Dance to the high octane sounds of the 70's and 80's with some of London's leading DJs. The bar closes at the 1.15am so there is plenty of time to soak up the festive spirit. And to ensure you all get home safe and sound there is a full taxi service just outside the front doors to take you back home, or indeed to your next adventure...

So come celebrate with us on Monday 30th November 2009. We would love to see you there.
