Welcome to RADAR's People of the Year Awards 2008
RADAR's People of the Year Awards is the disability event of the year. If you are looking for a fantastic evening out, the chance to celebrate pioneers of disability equality whilst impressing colleagues and clients with sparkling cocktails and sumptuous cuisine, an opportunity to network with business leaders, people from the arts and media, MPs and leading figures in the disability movement, or simply want some great entertainment to kick off the festive season, then be sure to put the 1st of December in your diary now.
This year is set to be one of the best events that RADAR has ever produced, and we are delighted to be joined for the evening by a wonderful host of presenters, Mayor of London Boris Johnson, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions James Purnell MP, Actor Matthew Goode, and Marie Claire to name a few.
As well as being a glamorous black tie event, hosted by the incomparable Jeremy Hardy, the People of the Year Awards has a serious message. Throughout the UK there are hundreds of thousands of people in all sectors working day in, day out to achieve human rights and true equality for everyone living with injury, ill health or disability. We have legal rights, but without dedication and commitment from disability activitsts, organisations and voluntary sector bodies, the Government, the public sector, business and the media, those rights would be little more than ink marks in the statute books.
The People of the Year Awards celebrate these contributions. Together these achievements radically change our world in ways that benefit disabled people, our friends and family, and British Society as a whole.
So why not join us at Battersea Evolution on the 1st of December?
I look forward to seeing you there.
